“Only Just a Little Strange” by Kang Seong-Eun

Kang Seong-Eun
Kang Seong-Eun

Still lost in some thought,
nameless and without symptoms, I stop.
And coming back to my senses, see a world in motion.

Like a disease that is only just a little strange.
Like a sleep that is only just a little strange.

Like a season growing in my mind
then fading without sadness.

The time for reading from top to bottom is gone.
The time for reading from right to left is gone.
The direction no longer matters
like an old scholar’s glasses,

like a Monday nap in brightening light.
It’s only just a little calm.
It’s only just a little strange.
